Character limit

Set a maximum length on a text field to keep answers concise, handy for things like a short bio, a tagline, or a reference code.

Setting a limit

1. Open a text field in the field editor.
2. Enter a number in the Character limit input. Leave it blank ("No limit") for no cap.

The helper text notes: "Caps how many characters can be typed. A live counter is shown in the input."

Behavior notes

• A live counter appears inside the input so respondents can see how many characters remain.
• The limit is enforced as the respondent types; they can't exceed it.
• Available on all plans.
